Lattin set the tone early with a thunderous dunk, highlighting the strength of the Miners, while Hill's back to back steals showed their quickness. Other key players for the Miners included Harry Flournoy, Willie Cager, Willie Worsley and Nevil Shed. The Kentucky Wildcats featured Pat Riley, Louis Dampier and Larry Conley.
