4 out of 5 stars Worst basketball game ever   June 21, 2003

When I went to the store looking for basketball games this was the cheapest one so I got but It has bad graphics, only one rookie player on each team, so there are no second rounders or ect. 989 sports make bad games except for football games. The commentry is real bad. Players start to twicth. no real actuall player numbers for example Amare Stoudimire's number is 32 in the game its 40. Its a real disapointment.

5 out of 5 stars A winner   April 16, 2003

I'll keep this short. Are the graphics the best I've ever seen? No. The commentary and PA system announcements give a nice touch to the audio of the game. I like being able to skip to the playoffs without playing a season if you want to. Also, the Career mode is nice because it lets you play for whatever team you like. You really feel like you are in control of your created players destiny. It's nice to be able to create "yourself" and play on your favorite NBA squad. You can even make your own dunks to use in your games. So why do I call this a winner? Well, the reason is because to me it's FUN to play. That's what's most important with any game, no matter what it is, is that you have fun when you play it. Next to that, graphics, sound, and all that technical stuff is pretty much a secondary issue. Give it a chance and you just might feel the same way about it. Peace, and God bless you.

4 out of 5 stars THIS GAME IS FOR PEOPLE WHO REALLY LIKE BASKETBALL.   March 30, 2003

This game is for people who REALY like basketball! The graphics are OK. The career mode is kind of stupid. If you don't do well in the summer leage you don't get to play for a real NBA team. Season mode is the bomb though. You can set it to any kind of diffcally you like. You can also trade for anyone you want and you will get them. There is also a practice mode, where you can practice shooting and dunking. You can create your own dunk and use it in game too. Also you can skip the season and go right to the playoffs. That is all I have to say. Peace Out

2 out of 5 stars CAN SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE A GOOD BASKETBALL GAME?   December 12, 2002

Well, I must say this game is terrible. When you're playing a game, the center and each of the forwards on the other team have about 10 blocks per game. The moves are useless, and you can get near the basket about 10% of the time. If you do get to the basket, the defender blocks your shot about half of the time. The career mode's concept is good, but when you create your player, you have to use just the right combinations to keep your player from looking like a freak. Also, the AI was killing me on career mode because difficulty was set to VETERAN. I went back to the main menu, switched to ROOKIE, started another career mode, and sure enough, it was back on VETERAN. I tried this multiple times, but had no luck. Rent it and see what you think.
