4 out of 5 stars NBA Live 2002   December 24, 2002

NBA Live 2002 is a pretty good installment of the 10 year series. It plays similar to 2001 but with some added bonuses like a decent Franchise mode (just like Madden 2002) that you one have to be careful about because all NBA league regulations with the Salary Cap count here so be careful on who you sign because it could hurt you later! And in this mode, after each season, there is also a draft which is pretty cool as well.

Also, vast improvements have been made in the game as well. It's a lot easier to hit alley oops now unlike 2001 where the ball would go 10' above the intended player's head. The annouce team is less annoying and they use a lot of player's nicknames (ex: Kevin Garnett is called KG and Michael Olawakhandi is called the Candy Man). Rebounding is no longer impossible! That was such a problem in 2001 (unless you actually had a decent rebounder or you made one). And now the computer actually plays against you unlike in the past all you had to do was head fake until they jumped and then you could just blow them outta the water. And of course Michael Jordan that is playable on a Season or Franchise mode.

There were some drawbacks too. The game got a little slower in pace. Not by much but you can tell that it got a little slower. Also, when you trade for players, make sure that you check each player on your team because I noticed that the computer no longer gives your new player a new number. Thank goodness I noticed that because at one point, I had 3 Number 21's on my team. Another thing that I liked better was that actual still pictures were used for each player (ex Player of the Game) and now the computerized image is substituted for that.

I still think that it's a great game but if you're looking for a faster pace, more challenging game, check out NBA 2K2 or NBA 2K3 because you'll be surprised how challenging those 2 are. Either way it goes, you'll be picking a quality NBA game.

I'm a fan of the NBA Live franchise, this game comes realy close to it, but it's not there yet. the graphics are realy good, but there needs to be more control. One the best things is that Michael Jordan is back on a team that you can use in a Franchise Mode!!!

3 out of 5 stars why no slam dunk contest & assesories?   October 28, 2002

De game would have been more tyte if u put an slam dunk contest and you should've added more assesories to the create player section. If you make a 2004 you should add this all.

I would have gave it an 5, but it had no slam dunk contest. It should've. It would've made the game more tyte. And you should add more assesories to the create player section.

1 out of 5 stars What can I say...umm...no?   September 21, 2002
It's like this...you run, you dunk, you win. The other team's IQ is that of a small rodent. This game is SO easy. They give you the ball! Are you stupid? No? Then steer clear of this game.
