2 out of 5 stars Fun to play, fun to hate.   November 21, 2009

First of all I love madden. Love Franchise mode. Got this for my Pc so that i cuold use a xbox360 controller to play it(No i don't have an xbox360 just the controller) and that worked fine after i downloaded the patch. Was addicting to my franchise for days and if thats all the time you want out of this game its a great buy. However after i week i want to add created players to my franchise and start a franchise with a created team(things you could do in 04), well you can't do that anymore, or atleast i can't figure it out. After three seasons all my players unexplainably had an awareness jump to 99, even my backups. You don't have a choice in this and now i don't have to fun of making my team better by myself. Then if you play the games long enough you will notice its like the game cheats for the computer. You will fumble the ball 4 times a game while the computer never does. Corner backs will make plays on balls when they were running the other way and weren't looking. The first season i played LT broke the rushing record by over 500 yrds. Ive gone undefeated and lost the coach of the year to three loss teams. Then if you go even deeper the team ratings are outlandish. The Patriots who lost the super bowl are the all time greatest team. The texans are rating below the european leagues. There are year specific teams that are better than thier all time teams. Ex: the 75 vikings who lost to the steelers are better than the all time steelers!?!? Then there are real glitches, my game sounds only work half of the time. Bottom line the premise if real fun but the execution is terrible.

5 out of 5 stars Madden for the PC rocks   September 10, 2009

I don't know why people even bother to complain about the rosters. If you have been playing Madden football for any number of years then you would know the rosters are usually based from the previous year's roster and are never exactly 100% correct by the time the game hits the stores. For this reason I make myself the GM of every team and if I don't agree with a particular player's attributes I just go and change them. If there is a player who is missing I just create him or trade for him, sometimes with a team from another era. I kinda like having Jason Campbell throwing to Art Monk or handing off to John Riggins, who also blocks for Clinton Portis. Dick Butkus, The Fridge & Walter Payton playing alongside Brian Urlacher. Terrell Owens & Trent Edwards with O.J. Simpson. Jamal Lewis and Jim Brown in the same backfield. Christian Okoye & Derrick Thomas on the same Kansas City Chiefs as Matt Cassel and Larry Johnson. The Dolphins with Marino, Clayton, Duper, Csonka, Mercury Morris & Ricky Williams. The Chargers with Philip Rivers, LT & Chuck Muncie. I like having players on the game whose names I know, even if I created them and even if they are on teams I do not like and don't play with. I probably got carried away with the rosters but they are mostly up-to-date and as you can see, some teams are stacked.

Game play is also impacted by your video card, even though Madden is not as graphics intense as other games I still recommend getting the best video card you can realistically afford and a game pad for the best experience. I never noticed some of the glitches other people talk about. My modest setup is starting to get old but still plays this game and others quite well even on maxed out settings:

Pentium 4 3.2GHz
2x1GB PC3200 RAM
A-Power 680w PSU
BFG 6800GT OC graphics card/BenQ FP951 monitor
Game Elements PC Recoil Gamepad
Logitech Precision Gamepad
Logitech Wingman Extreme Digital 3D Joystick
ThrustMaster NASCAR Pro Digital 2 Racing Wheel

Maybe I like football and gaming a little bit too much

I'm a novice game player and did not feel the need for the latest & greatest version of the game. That said, the game is very challenging, has excellent graphics, and good practice drills. To play the game, you have to have the game-DVD inserted because all of the program files are not loaded onto your hard-drive, which is a good thing. I'm also getting used to a new gamepad, so my learning & skill curve are coming along slow but that's Ok. For me it was $$ well spent. I don't have a single complaint about the ordering processing, delivery, or the game.

5 out of 5 stars Greatest sports game i have ever played on the PC!   July 29, 2009

This game has great graphics and features. You can do so many different things. NFL Superstar mode is a lot of fun, especially the draft and working up to the draft! Then you can own your team with Franchise Mode. Then you get of those and you can get a roster update for College Football teams!
