Same EA January 30, 2010 John J. O'brien This edition is a little better than '07, however if you want a fun game where you can makes adjustments, buy NHL 2004.
EA's dominance,in my opion is gone.
Only for Hockey Fans October 9, 2009 Russell K. Waddell I played the NHL series as a kid, and loved it. I was curious if this would hold my interest, even not being a big hockey fan.
Well, it didn't. The controls are extremely tough to learn (I don't play a lot of sports games, though). The difficulty settings are sort of awkward...I would win 6-0 on easy and lose 0-6 on normal. Dynasty mode is a little weak. Not much control over anything outside of the typical trades, salaries, etc.
Unless you like hockey, I'd avoid this game.
ea sports nhl 09 September 26, 2009 Charles Lund (bristol ct) awesome game! recommend for any hockey fan out there who likes to play video games players and audience looks real
great...exept one aspect June 30, 2009 Taylor L. King (Florence,Oregon) this game has many hours of fun crammed into it. it's pretty much like nhl 07. two years and not much has changed exept the option of "Hybrid", or "Classic" controls.one other thing. Its a pain in the butt to get online. I spent 2 hours trying to find a leugue to join or someone to play w/online and i couldn't.After two hours! The final verdict: buy it if you don't plan to play online at all.
Controls tricky at first, fun at last! March 31, 2009 Andrew Chernauskas (Erie, PA USA) The new features of the dual analog stick allow better control of shooting, skating, dekeing, and puck control. In earlier versions, I had trouble poke checking and maintaining control of the puck. With the new controls, although tough to get a hang of at first, you've got more "control" and fun.
