all around great ball March 20, 2008 N. J. Parker (USA) I just ordered my ball today. i can't wait for it to show up. I first used a TF-1000 ZK Pro at the local YMCA. A friend of mine had one. I was greatly impressed. This ball has incredible feel and remains tacky for a long time. When the some of the tackiness wears off a little you are still left with a great ball with predictable bounce and amazing feel. When playing a lot my hands often get sweaty. Even with the extra moisture; from what i could see this ball exceeded my expectations. Worth the dough. It sure as heck beats Y balls.
Very different from the standard TF-1000 November 29, 2007 D. Frakes (California) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm a big fan of Spalding's TF-1000, which is, in my opinion, one of the best indoor basketballs ever. I purchased the TF-1000 ZK Pro thinking it was the current version of the TF-1000. Unfortunately, it's quite different. Although I like the wider, deeper grooves of the ZK Pro, the ZK Pro's composite material is different from that of the standard TF-1000 -- it's softer and stickier, making the ball handle and bounce oddly (more like Wilson's Solution Game Ball and the short-lived Spalding NBA Composite Game Ball). And unlike the standard TF-1000, which breaks in fairly quickly, my ZK Pro hasn't changed much after over a month of use. If you're a fan of the standard TF-1000, I recommend looking elsewhere for that ball. Like the Wilson and Spalding balls mentioned above, pure shooters -- who don't dribble or use the backboard much -- may like the ZK Pro, but most of the people in our leagues have been disappointed.
