Product Description Use the Force with the amazing Force Action Lightsabers! These weapons of Force-users everywhere have blades that retract fully into the handle, and with the push of a button, spring into action, light up, and play real lightsaber sound effects! Obi-Wan Kenobi's blue lightsaber blade jumps out to slay Sith Lords and enemies of the Republic, and requires 3x 'AA' batteries (not included) for its lights and sounds. Remember this weapon is your life!
Amazon.com Product Description Use the force with the incredible Force Action Lightsaber! Just like in the Star Wars movies, this toy weapon springs into action, lights up, and makes realistic lightsaber sounds. The weapon of choice for a young Jedi in training, this toy is recommended for children ages six and up.
The toy weapon is spring-activated and the blade is made of translucent blue plastic. View larger. View Side - Top. |
The blade itself lights up and makes realistic lightsaber sounds. View larger. | Just Like the Movies This lightsaber features the same design wielded by Obi-Wan Kenobi in the tremendous battles of the Clone Wars and in defeating some of the most diabolical villains of the dark side, from General Grievous to Darth Maul. For warriors who need to be prepared at any moment to duel with Sith Lords or enemies of the Republic, this weapon swiftly extends to over three feet long with the sliding of a button, and then it's ready to help save the galaxy. The spring-activated blade is made with translucent blue plastic. Built-in segments fully retract into the handle, and the blade is illuminated with bands of light. While it's intended for use against another lightsaber -- and not a person or animal -- the blade is built from a safer, softer plastic than the durable, hard plastic handle, just in case. The silver handle features dynamic looking black, gold, and red accents. Realistic Sounds For over 30 years, Stars Wars fans the world over have been inspired to make their own lightsaber sound effects, but now, the Force Action Lightsaber does it for you. The toy creates the distinctive power-activated "humming" drone that creates anticipation in moments between swings. This lightsaber also replicates the burst of electricity as the saber turns on and the blade extends as well as the "wave" of the blade as it hovers through the air. Using the Force Unlike the lightsabers of the Star Wars movie, the toy doesn't retract with the push of a button. After turning the weapon off, the blade can be collapsed by hand -- but be careful not to jam the blade too tightly into the handle. A couple of times while playing with the lightsaber, the blade did not extend when the power was activated; the sound effects started up, but the "on" button had to be pressed more than once to get the blade out. The on/off button looks as if it should also control the volume of the lightsaber -- but it does not. Parents who get sick of the "humming" can remove the batteries, as the lightsaber requires three AA batteries (not included) for its lights and sounds. But Obi-Wan Kenobi's Lightsaber wouldn't be half the fun without its glowing arc-wave energy blade, and the blue light is especially mesmerizing in the dark. While it's always exciting to fight against villains, the lightsaber is a great toy for young Jedis learning to wield the Force on their own.

Use Obi Wan Kenobi's Saber to defeat the Forces of Evil November 11, 2008 X-Ray Vision (Southeastern United States) The construction is solid. A button activates the sword by extending the saber and turning on the lights/special effects. It is a safe toy and I don't forsee immediate danger, except for defeat of the evil wielders of the Force. Sound effects are realistic and the lights are a great touch. My daughter loves it and I don't mind sword fighting with her, either. Pros: Button actuating the saber Sound effects Solid construction Cons: None This is a great addition to your Jedi's collection. I highly recommend it.
Nice toy September 23, 2008 Yaron Mazor (ISRAEL) My kid (5 Yrs. old) loves this toy although I'm a bit dissapointed that the light is not as strong as I expected it to be. In order to realy see the light of the lightsaber, you need to activate it in the dark and even then , it won't be strong enough. After 3 weeks the sounds stopped working (probably because my kid and I conducted many battles :))
Dreams come true! July 29, 2008 Maria Musukova (Moscow, Russia) This is the second lightsaber I bought to my child. The first one was bought (through Amazon) a year and a half ago, and it was one of the favorite toys of my child. Alas, in a hard battle with my sofa the first lightsaber was broken. For months, my child tried to create a lightsaber by herself, but it was not easy to make it light, so I bought another Hasbro lightsaber. My child is happy, me too. (Sorry for my English, this is not my native language.)
Son loves it. May 15, 2008 Lisa M. DeLoretta (Groton, CT) We bought this for my 4 year old son for his birthday. It is a little big for younger children, but he has still enjoyed it a whole lot. It is the kind of toy that is kept of out of reach when not being played with though. I dread to think what would happen if he his two year old sister got her hands on it. Overall a very fun toy and adults like it as much as the kids.
Watch Out for the _______! December 25, 2007 Lynn Benson (Salt Lake City, UT) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Other than the fact that you're going to be yelling at your child to "Watch Out for the Whatever" about forty thousand times while you own this toy (we just opened ours this morning and I've had to say it about sixty times) this is a winner with my son. Little boys love these kinds of swords. Lights and buzzing noises just make them feel like they are a Star Wars guy.
