Proper Use and Review November 30, 2008 The Captain (NY, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Look... If you are reviewing an official NBA game ball, you can not be playing basketball for a couple of months. First of all: This ball needs a serious break-in time. (there are several ways to break this ball in) Secondly, this ball is much heavier than your cheap spalding/wilson/Nike etc. balls. This ball is made to be shot by men, who are mostly 6'0-7'6 with larger triceps... so at your 5'6 148 pds., do not review this ball. I found that it is not wise to over inflate this ball. No one, out of over 50 people I have given this ball, actually enjoyed the feel or the shot path they had with this ball. Everyone who I have given this ball to shot their first 10 shots at least short. This is back to the fact that, they do not posses and have not trained to posses the muscles adequate that this ball requires. (which means they are mostly not shooting correctly in the first place and/or using cheap indoor/lighter/smaller balls throughout anytime on the courts.) If you notice an NBA game ball is warn and has a much browner color than this ball. The only people who enjoyed this ball, were people just impressed with the fact that this is the official ball. most people don't even believe this ROCK is the official game ball of the NBA. Not ONCE has this ball been selected in over 100 pick up games when I brought it to be a game ball. People don't like to miss and usually have small hands for this. I have finally trained myself to shoot this .... (YES, ROCK!) It deserves that name. Play with any other ball until you are good enough to make the NBA or train with this ball for at least 6 months. (That's what it takes - you have to have huge hands to palm this sucker) So... to wrap up, don't by little Jeffrey this ball for the hollidays unless he is a man-child!
Pretty good basketball March 21, 2008 Chess F. Reak (Ohio) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this ball for my dad and he loves it. I like the Wilson Soultion much better, though.

I just got this ball over Thanksgiving break. It still has plenty of hours left before it's broken in, but right away it feels great to shoot with this ball. Most people agree when they play with my ball.

The standard March 12, 2007 badjazz (Honolulu, HI USA) 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
First off, this is not the tackiest, softest basketball out there. It is a real basketball. It feels larger, harder, and heavier than most other basketballs that are popular now for indoor play. All the microfiber basketballs that have come out that allow everybody to palm the ball like MJ are like toys compared to this. Consequently, many people who are used to the microfiber basketballs hate these. But, to me at least, these are what basketballs are supposed to be. They feel right, bounce right, and rebound like a basketball should. Highly recommended.
