Keeps you fit...keeps you honest March 14, 2006 L. Lau (California, United States) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I can't say enough good things about the Omron HJ112 Pedometer. I've only been using mine for two months and already it has kept me honest in terms of the actual steps I take, plus it keeps me more fit in the process. Because of that, it is also a good motivating tool. Without an accurate way to count our steps, none of us can honestly say just how many steps we take on a daily basis, can we? This product helps! The simple instructions make programming the pedometer easy, as it is based on your own personal stride, weight, etc. The numbers are large and dark, very easy to read. And besides counting regular steps, it also counts aerobic steps, calories burned and miles covered, all at the touch of a button. In addition, a 'memory' button allows you to view your last seven days of all functions (steps, aerobic steps, calories and miles). There is a watch/clock mode as well, and its measurements are a compact 2 3/4 in x 2 in. It's also very lightweight! My husband lost his on a business trip...whoever was lucky enough to find it hopefully is making good use of it. If you're looking for an accurate way to count your steps and a good way to motivate yourself to just get out there and walk, this is for you!
This is as good as all the reviews! March 14, 2006 M. Sandomirsky (St. Louis) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love this gadget. I got one for my hubby and friend. They love them. Very accurate and brutally honest. The calorie count is eye opening. I have no problems using this on bicycle or elliptical machine. Highly recommend!
A little thing for upgrading your health. March 13, 2006 M. Gilad (Redwood City, CA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
That small gadget which you don't feel it carried at your pocket will upgrade youe health by encouraging you for physical move. It gives you the real information about your movements on your day and you can compare to previous days. That way you know when you need realy to add movements and steps to improve. Lot of my freind that bought it had to reorder it for it was confiscated by their spouse!!
Thanks to other reivewers March 13, 2006 C. Flaherty (Boston, MA United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I wanted to thank those people who review items that they buy. I used the reviews to choose this pedometer and I am thrilled with it. The first week both my husband and I have used these, they have been extremely accurate and fun to use. Ah the age old challenge of "how many steps did you take" has begun in our house. For anyone in the market for a pedometer, I highly recommend this one. But a bigger thank you goes to those who already wrote excellent reviews and helped me buy it in the first place.
Better Health is Amazingly Easy March 13, 2006 Liora Hess (Atlanta, GA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've been using this pedometer for a while now, and I absolutely love it. My previous model was a Sportline, which was smaller and sort of rectangular-shaped. Some may complain that the Omron is too large, but that long oval shape helps keep the pedometer from rolling with the waistline on your pants. When a pedometer isn't perpendicular to the ground, it's not going to work. That was one thing that rendered my Sportline totally useless. This pedometer has so many benefits I enjoy. It comes with a little safety cord. At first I thought this was overkill and something I didn't really need. However, after knocking the Omron off a couple times, I attached the safety cord and have appreciated it since. The Omron pedometer has multiple features. First, it will count your steps during the day. Since you've entered your height, weight and age, it will also count as aerobic steps when you reach so many steps per minute. At the end of the day you can take a look at your total steps and see how many of those were actually aerobic as well as how many minutes you spent in an aerobic zone. It can be worn in a pocket, in a purse held closely at your side (in order to match your gait rather than swing freely on its own). These other options free you up to count your steps every day without wondering where the heck you'll attach the pedometer if you don't have something with a waistline on. There's also a memory function. The pedometer resets itself at midnight every night and stores 10 days' worth of info. I'm very happy with the pedometer. Something so simple and inexpensive has already inspired me to lose a several pounds and become more active. Each day I'm motivated to get closer to that 10,000 steps per day goal. Every day seeing the readout on the pedometer is motivation to break the previous day's record. I highly recommend this pedometer for anyone who wants to get moving and improve their health in a sane manner that is all about consistency and permanent life changes toward health.
