Whether the plastic is good or bad for you I'm glad my family switched to stainless steel. I've raised my kids to drink water instead of soda or juice,(please don't reply about how good juice is, they get way more v&n from real fruit) and this is a great way to personalize their hydration storage. The kids have the 18oz with the sport cap and my wife and I have the 27 with loop cap.
Please consider switching your family over to water. Many kids get a significant (over 15-20%) of their calories from sweet beverages. Those sodas add up. Enough of my rant, on to the review.
Great bottle. 27 oz. is a great size, the cap doesn't leak and screws on and off easy thanks to large threads. Note, if it doesn't go on easy don't force it. Back out and try again. I haven't had ANY problem with the lid threading but someone mentioned it on one of these klean kanteen reviews and I just wanted to put it out there.
I suspect it will last forever if not abused. There is an O-ring that forms the seal between the bottle and the cap that MAY wear out eventually. And since the bottle is fairly thin it could crack if abused.
When it does wear out I wont hesitate to get another Klean Kanteen.

These are the best sippy cups ever. They don't leak at all (well, except for the one time that my husband forgot to put one of the valves in). I bought a Sigg water bottle for each of my three kids after reading a review that complained of leakage with the Kleen Kanteen. But after cursing the Siggs' non-dishwasher-safe finish every day while I washed them, I decided to try the Kleen Kanteen, and I am so glad that I did. My kids love them, they are totally dishwasher friendly, and they don't leak even after a thousand trips through the beloved dishwasher. I will never buy any other sippy cup as long as I live!

I bought the Thermos Foogo and the Kleen Kanteen at the same time.
The Foogo leaks and is difficult to put together. The Kleen Kanteen is worlds better because I can use my Avent lids with it. I use my bottle nipples with it for the baby and the sippy tops for the toddler.
Only drawback: Their hands get a little chilly when they are drinking cold drinks.

These are a nice alternative to the plastic bottles, environmentally appropriate, and chemically safe. I love the wide top so I can fill it with ice cube. The nipple top is easy to drink through. It fits in the vehicle cup holder. I don't like that they sweat so I put it in the insulated holder from the plastic one I tossed out to fix that problem. It would be great if they made a custom cover for these one day. The water has a clean cold taste now.

Just say "no" to plastic leeching sippy cups! Buy the adult size and save our planet too!
