| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The Los Angeles Lakers are one of professional basketball's most notorious franchises, and their history is rife with monumental players and memorable stories. The Lakers have been moved to California, have set still-unbroken records, and have played host to some of the most famous and infamous players in the NBA. From an unimpressive career in Minneapolis in the 1950s to NBA championships in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, from Magic Johnson to Kobe Bryant, and from Bob Short to Jerry Buss, the Los Angeles Lakers have always been a mix of good, bad, and ugly. Their stories are collected here in a volume that Lakers fans everywhere will be sure to enjoy.

Nothing new here in this book December 14, 2007 Garry Flora (Amarillo, Tx. USA) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book was quite a disappointment. All in does is rehash history of the Lakers which has been told in at least two-dozen books almost word for word and was retold in this work. Particularly irritating was author Travers fawning over Jerry West and Magic Johnson in every sentence written about each man, while at the same time taking every chance to rip into Wilt and Kareem and give neither big man his proper due for what he brought to the table for the Lakers. As great as The Logo and Magic were, how many championships did either man win without Wilt and Kareem?? Thats right baby...ZERO. Don`t waste your money on this book if you have ANY other books on the Lakers. There`s nothing new here.
