Great Toy December 31, 2008 Father of 4 (Belews Creek, NC) My four year old is a big transformers fan. He has wanted Optimus Prime for a few months. Santa brought it for Christmas. It was the first toy he saw and did not want to open anything else. Can not say how the auto transform functions, sine he wont let me try it out. He is very content ot transform it manually. But it is easy for a 4 year old to transform the toy. There is a top plate that covers the head when transformed. It tends to fall off, but not a major deal.
My son loves it December 29, 2008 D. MCKICHAN I got this when it was heavily discounted by Amazon just prior to Xmas and my review takes that very low price into account. At full price I would probably knock it down a star as it is not worth twice the 20 dollar transformers. It does seem to be well made in comparison to the smaller ones though and doesn't have a lot of small hinged parts. It also transforms fairly easily which is also nice. My four year old and his same age cousin loved playing with it on xmas.
A bit disappointed December 26, 2008 Abraham Lincoln (USA) I have issues with the quality of this item for around fifty bucks. The mouth stopped working immediately upon taking it out of the package on Christmas morning. I took it out for my child, and the mouth wasn't working by the time we transformed it. Still can't get it to work. The axe doesn't seem to spring into fully deployed position when you put it in his hand, either. Also, the plastic seems cheap and like it really wants to snap in places. We boxed it back up and will probably return it.
grandson will be sooooo surprised December 18, 2008 Carolyn P. Boudreau (CONNECTICUT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i watched this toy go up and down in price and at 2 am i decided not to wait any longer. my youngest grandson wanted this toy so badly, he asked santa for it.....gramma bought it instead. he had asked me for it at least three months ago. i am so happy to have found amazon.com. their prices are good, and the shipping is fast. i have never been disappointed with anything that i have gotton. i order bakugan for the 7 year old, when no one else had any, and if they did the price was way out of wack for such a plastic toy. amazon had it at what i thought was a more reasonable price, i have ordered twice in 2 months, once for birthday, and one for christmas. thank you for helping me with everything....
Optimus December 14, 2008 J. Horne (NC) My son loves Optimus Prime, which is cool because I did too at his age. Now if I could just get him into this retro GI Joe thing lol... Seriously, it is easier to transform than the smaller ones and somewhat durable.
