Amazon.com If a pig can herd sheep, then the field is wide open for animals with unusual talents, and not just on Letterman's Late Show, either. Buddy, the golden retriever who made an unexpected hit in the initial Air Bud (1997), shows just how far you can stretch one joke over the course of two movies. Which isn't as far as the makers hoped, unfortunately. While the first film--about a performing dog who runs away from an abusive clown, befriends a lonely boy, and becomes a basketball star--had its charms, this one pushes the gag to the limit. This time, Buddy the dog learns to play football, even as he foils a plan by an international group of thieves to steal animals and start their own zoo. This is one that will hold the kids' attention while the adults do something else, at ease in the knowledge that their children are watching an innocuously entertaining movie. --Marshall Fine

Dogs don't play football October 10, 2006 S. Mcqueen 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
Dogs do not play football people play football. I think this movie is mocking those young athletes saying that "A dog can play sports better then you, so give up you failure".
That's What I'm Talking About!!! February 22, 2006 Vinny 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the most excellent Air Bud movie I have seen. I feel this movie should be rated PG. two scenes of violence during the football game but it's fun.
New Guy For Mom and a New Sport July 25, 2005 Joshua Koppel (Chicago, IL United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
In this second movie based on real-life character Air Bud, Josh (Kevin Zegers) has a hard time dealing with his mother's attempts to date. His mom and the new vet hit it off and he gives Josh a football. Josh seems insulted but Buddy wants to play. Things change when Josh discovers Buddy can catch footballs. Then he decides to go out for football as revenge against his mom's new guy. But it would not be an Air Bud movie is someone wasn't trying to get a hold of Buddy. This time it is a comic pair of Russians (looking like Boris and Natasha) who are stealing animals to put together a circus. In the end this one works better than the other sequels. Unlike World Pup or Seventh Inning Fetch, we don't have the parents attending a game while being unconcerned about their missing children. This time the game goes on and only Buddy is missing. Also unlike the other movies, the rescue is not made by one of the kids. All in all this is a fun movie, which like the first, actually deals with some touching issues as Josh has to come to terms with his mother's decisions. Plenty of dog action and slapstick round out the film and making it enjoyable for the whole family.
VERY GOOD MOVIE!!!!!!!! June 25, 2005 Bambi L. Tuckey
This movie is the 2nd movie of the Air Bud shows. It's a VERY good movie!!!! When Josh soon enters the Football team Buddy soon shows he can play Football too! When Buddy enters the game watch as he plays like a king! But when two bad guys who steal animals who can do great things find out what Buddy can do they soon take him! Can Buddy escaped from the two bad guys and save the other animals and get to the game in time? Watch as a Golden Retriever plays Football and really pulls some Touch downs! Do buy it!
