Amazon.com If you are a parent trying to teach your child the game of basketball, or a young person thinking of attending a basketball camp, Let's Play Basketball is an excellent place to start. This 50-minute instructional film produced by ESPN Video covers the basic fundamentals of basketball as taught by one the game's best teachers, Duke University head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Year in and year out, Coach K.'s team is perhaps the most fundamentally sound team in the United States. Why? Because of his special ability to break the game down into simple drills that develop the basic skills necessary to succeed. His polished ability to teach the game is never more evident than in this video. Going a step further than dissecting the game into drills, he breaks the drills themselves down to show players ways to improve their ball handling, passing, shooting, footwork, rebounding, offense, defense, and teamwork skills. At the end of each segment, Coach K. offers his individual tips on how to improve. This video is not just an introduction to basketball for beginners, but a valuable insight into the game, with tips experienced players can use to improve their game. If you ever wanted to learn basketball the Coach K. way, this is the place to start. --Gordie Sholtys

Great teaching video for coaches and players July 16, 2005 Ray A. Gibson (Baltimore, MD) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Mike Krzyzewski's video is one of the best videos I have brought to date. He starts with some basic drills with kids and then with Tommy Amaker, his point guard from Duke during the 84-87 seasons. He moves to more advanced drills until he teaches a five on five drill. For coaches, the drills themselves are worth the money for this video. You have to watch this video over and over to understand some of his advanced points. Watching this video will give you some insight to how one of the best college coaches run their practice.
Awesome Instructions August 27, 2000 Ron Dalton (Pawtucket, Rhode Island United States) 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
My first basketball video purchased after 4 years of CYO coaching. I was looking for a way to help teach the fundamentals in a way that was both instructional, repeatable and fun. This video does just that. An easy to use video especially talored for the beginning coach providing an overview for all facets of the game. I use this tape before practices to show how the drill should be done and than implement what we watch. My daughter has watched the tape more than I have. Players can learn the fun way to improving their skills with some very basic drills. After watching this video you can also make some of your own variations of these drills to keep the drill "fresh". A wonderfully useful video!
Nothing but net! February 10, 2000 KZR (Georgetown, TX United States) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Having just signed on to coach a young boys & girls basketball team, I was looking for a video that was targeted towards teaching the fundamentals of basketball. Knowing that Coach K has had a exceptionally successful program at Duke, I decided to take a look at his video. The bottom line is I am well pleased with the video. It not only provides some common-sense insight into elementary strategies but also provides new and rusty coaches with some core drills to use with their team(s). Well worth the nominal investment.

I have watched the video a couple of times. Once to see the overall content and the second time to take notes. I'm sure I will watch it several more times. This video does a great job teaching the fundamentals of basketball. The content is good and the examples are great. I'd recommend it to anyone who like myself is coaching youth basketball for the first time.
It was a great video. August 14, 1999 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This video is good for just about anyone. Coach K offers in-depth analysis on all aspects of the game. Great for teaching kids and for individual workouts.
